Academic Achievement & Growth:

The MTSD school district is one of the preeminent school districts in the state of Wisconsin.  Whether looking at graduation rates, ACT scores, Department of Public Instruction (DPI) annual school district report cards, English language arts (ELA) and math proficiency scores, or student and family survey findings - we continue to provide some of the best education in the state to our community's children. 

While we must all celebrate this long-standing track record of excellence in our district, there remain areas of opportunity and growth as well.  Specifically, we must address areas in which our academic recovery since 2021 has lagged as well as the intra-district variation in academic outcomes.  Similarly, we must continue to set high standards that our community expects, develop strategies to achieve these goals, and resource them appropriately.  We must do this through the use of data-driven analysis, principled  decision-making, and collaborative problem-solving with the stakeholders of our community.  All of this embraces the district's ongoing focus on continuous improvement.   

As an MTSD board member over the last 8 months, I have worked in partnership with our community, families, and district leadership to meaningfully contribute to our continuous drive for academic excellence.  I have done this through a process of ongoing inquiry, analysis, respectful discourse, and direct feedback to our administrative leadership team.  If elected, I will continue to leverage both my personal and professional experiences and skill sets to continue contributing to our district's academic growth and advancement.
